Upcoming DUI Checkpoints Imminent for Halloween

Police will be setting up roadblocks this Halloween to catch drivers who are DUI on Halloween. For instance, Winter Park Police Department issued a news release that they are running road blocks for DUI form October 25-November 1, 2013.

Be careful this Halloween season and use a designated driver. If you are going to a Halloween party in Orlando or Winter Park, be extra cautious and do not drink or drive as police will be out in full force looking for impaired drivers. Remember to have a plan before you go out to party. Pick a friend who will drive you no matter what and who will pledge not to drink. If you are not driving anywhere with a friend but still plan to drive, put a taxi driver contact in your phone so you can call someone easily in case you decide to drink.

You can google taxi on your smart phone or use a good local company like Mears Taxi that provides drivers around the clock. Just remember to have the contact BEFORE you go out and drink.

Remember that DUI arrests on Halloween are no joke and that you can face serious fines, court costs, alcohol counseling, probation, classes, impoundment and possibly jail in a bad case. If you want more information on DUI please click on our videos to get more information.

Please be safe this Halloween season. Remember there are many kids walking around trick or treating and that children often will walk out in the middle of the street. Imagine if you were to hit a child on accident. It would be a mistake that would devastate you, your family and the child you hit. Trick or Treat. Don’t Drink and Drive on Halloween! Have fun!
