The Umansky Law Firm proudly supports those pursuing a career as lawyers with the creation of The Umansky Law Firm Education Scholarship. The Umansky Law Firm, a criminal defense firm based in Orlando, FL will be sponsoring this annual scholarship for law students whose lives have been impacted by severe car accident injury. Recognizing that physical impairments often make academic pursuits more challenging we will award $1,000 to our scholarship fund in order to assist exceptional students who have suffered severe injuries from car accidents.

Deadlines for the 2018 Umansky Law Firm Education Scholarship

All application material must be submitted by 5:00 P.M. EST on March 31, 2018

The winner will be notified by May 1, 2018

Applicant Essay Topics

Please choose one of the three questions provided for your essay. Essays must be between 600 and 1000 words.

1. How has living with severe injury affected your pursuit of higher education?

2. How will you help others with severe injuries in the future?

3. How has a famous individual with a severe injury inspired you to succeed?

All applicants should also include a separate statement of how the scholarship will help them. This should be only one paragraph long included at the end of the essay. This paragraph will not count toward the word count of the essay.

Applicant Requirements

Applicant must be a student entering a U.S. accredited law school or a current student at an accredited U.S. law school.

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA

Terms and Conditions

The Scholarship is open to all students attending law school in the United States. Applicant must be a current student attending an accredited law school or be accepted to begin studying at an accredited law school. All scholarship funds will be dispersed to the recipient within 30 days of being awarded their scholarship. The scholarship recipient is determined by selection committee at The Umansky Law Firm. All decisions of the selection committee are final. Proof of a severe injury from a vehicle accident may be required with all applications. The Umansky Law Firm is not responsible for technical issues which prevent applications from being submitted or considered.

PRIVACY STATEMENT: We will not sell, share, or distribute the information you submit with your scholarship application to any third parties. The information you submit will be used only for determining the scholarship recipient and deleted after the selection period.

NON-DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT: The recipient of The Umansky Law Firm Education Scholarship will be determined by a committee set up by The Umansky Law Firm. The selection committee is not influenced by race, gender, nationality, sexual preference or any criteria other than the listed application requirements.
