Increased DUI Patrols Expected For Fourth of July Weekend

It's July 4th weekend and law enforcement will be out in full force looking for drivers under the influence. Patrols will be significantly stepped up starting tonight and running through Monday. Multiple agencies throughout Central Florida will be taking part, specifically the Orange County Sherriff's Office and Florida Highway Patrol.

Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend Safely

There is probably no better three day weekend across the United States than Memorial Day Weekend. For some people in the northern states, it means the end of winter and is typically a "summer like" day. For the kids, it is the end of a grueling year at school, and they know that this weekend marks the beginning of carefree summer days ahead. In Orlando, this is a great weekend too, and there are the theme parks, tourists venues and of course, miles and miles of beach.  We enjoy the time off, but we always give our thoughts and hearts to our troops while we're comfortable in safety, surrounded by friends and family.

After the Super Bowl, Don't Touch Down in Jail for DUI

Tomorrow is the Super Bowl, and it's the clash of the Pats and Giants! The Super Bowl is a very popular event for friends and family to get together to enjoy the game. Even those that aren't normally inclined to watch football games may opt to watch the Super Bowl,  if not for the game, the commercials and always extravagant halftime show. For many people, it's also an excuse to enjoy some alcoholic beverages alongside some fun snacks and grilling. Whether at private parties or at bars or restaurants, many Super Bowl viewers will imbibe while they enjoy the game. When the party's over, there are a lot of intoxicated people needing to get home for the night.

Is Drunk Walking a Crime in Florida? Maybe.

With New Year's Eve upon us, and on a Saturday no less, many are speculating that this may be a busy holiday for local emergency rooms and jails that fill up with intoxicated party-goers. It's no secret that drunk driving is a criminal crime in Orlando, in Florida and throughout the United States, but many don't understand that simply walking around in public while intoxicated can also land you in the back of a cop car.

New Years Eve and DUI

Let's face it. New Years Eve is a time of celebration, dancing and partying. 2011 was a tough year and we all want to start fresh this upcoming year. In Orlando and the rest of Florida, there will be tons of celebrations including fireworks, food and festivities. Drinking alcohol will commonly be a part of the fun. Whatever you do that night, please make sure you have a designated driver or an alternative way of getting home. Law Enforcement and police from Winter Park, Orlando, Winter Springs, Altamonte Springs, Kissimmee, Melbourne and Daytona will be out in force looking to arrest drunk and DUI drivers.
